Big month for me

Well it is here.  The month I will turn 50!  A little bit scary, but happy too.  My boss reminds me that "I'm on the right side of the grass."  I'm leaving Thursday for a 9 day Carribean cruise and am planning to shop later for some new cruise clothes.  I think being aboard a crusie should be a good place to contemplate what I want to strive for going forward.  I have so many new and bright ideas swirling around inside my head.

Blogging has so far proved to be a little challenging to me.  Not in the writing but in the formatting.  I'm trying to find a book on it.  Anybody have any book reccomendations to help a new blogger?

Blazing hot in the Northeast

Hi!

We're definitely not the only ones baking.  I'm not complaining though because our summer season is much too short!

So this blogging proves to be challenging sometimes.  Figuring out how to link up, etc.  If anyone has any help tools or instructions for me I'd be grateful.

I live in upstate N.Y. and yesterday The Saratoga Track opened.  Why they ran the horses in that heat I don't know??  It is suppose to be cooler tomorrow so I may go then.  Saratoga is a beautiful city in the summer with many things to do.

I'm going on a 9 day cruise in less than 2 weeks and I'm hoping to be able to blog about it.

Going to go clothes shopping this weekend for some crusie attire : )

Have a great weekend!

Enjoying my space

Happy Independence Day!  Today I have the day off from work, of course, since it is a holiday.  So far I haven't left the peace and quiet of my home.   I enjoy the solitude of my house.  It is like a safe haven for me.  I was invited to a picnic/party down by the river.  Fireworks will be going off at 9 15 pm.  I thought about going for a slight time but realized it would just impede my peace.  Invariably there would be loud people who had too much to drink and that just doesn't allow me to be at peace.

Instead I have puttered around my house, sorted through a bunch of mail and junk mail and did a few chores.  I intend to spend the afternoon reading and working on this blog that I just started.  I have so very much to learn.

The great thing about my house is that it sets in a lot surrounded by much greenery and nature and allows for soothing sounds.  Lots of chirping birds!

I also have two dogs here that like to be kept company.  They would be Roxy and Sid.

A new hobby

I've been thinking about blogging for well over a month now.  This will be my first post and I am looking forward to getting acquainted with the blogging world.  I have so much to learn and am excited at all the new friends I may meet.

Writing is something that has always interested me.  I can remember back about 38 years ago when I was in the 6th grade and my English teacher returned a paper to me and on top he wrote "Good writing potential."  Somehow I have always kept that tucked away in the far corners of my mind.  I'm hopeful that I might find that creative side of me in blogging.

I awoke about 4:20 a.m. this morning to the birds just starting to chirp.  That is my favorite time of the day.  It seems that all is serene at that hour.  Most are still asleep except for folks like me that are the "early to bed, early to rise type."

I will sign off for now.  I'll be back soon!
